FRA Announces 2025-2026 Principal

As most of you know, our beloved Principal, Mrs. Linda D’Amico will be retiring after the 2024-2025 school year. We have been blessed to have Mrs. Linda for the last 7 years and are beyond thankful for her leadership and growth of FRA during her tenure.

Knowing her pending retirement, False River Academy’s Board of Directors started advertising for our next Principal this past spring. We interviewed all candidates, shortlisted the top 2 candidates and went thru a 2nd round of extended interviews. Upon completion of these interviews and after each member was able to complete an extensive and deliberate evaluation, the numbers were complied to determine who the top candidate was. We are excited to announce that our Principal (effective July of 2025) will be FRA Alumni, Mrs. Mary LeBlanc Horner!

Mary says “I’ve been a gator my whole life. I started out in Mrs. Renee‘s kindergarten class and graduated having been taught by some great FRA educators.” After graduation, Mrs. Horner attended LSU where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. Mary began her teaching career at FRA in November of 2009. After teaching at FRA for six years, she then went to Livonia High School and served as a Special Educator for eight years. Mary is certified in General Science grades 6-12 and Mild/Moderate 6-12 Special Education. During her time at Livonia, she earned her Master’s degree in Special Education and Transition. Last year, Mary returned to FRA as Academic Coordinator. “I’m grateful to have learned from so many wonderful educators and administrators. It is an honor to continue learning under Mrs. Linda D’Amico and the amazing staff at FRA. God has blessed me abundantly. It’s even better that I get to bring my baby gator to and from school every day. I’m both blessed and honored to be the next principal at FRA. I look forward to a bright future at a place I call home, where excellence meets honor and tradition. Go Gators!”
